Hi everyone, I'm considering buying a Scout boat and I remember taking a tour of the factory back in 1996 or 1997. I was told then that the inner hull is filled with an open cell foam for flotation and sound deadening. In recent years I've read about this type of foam used in other boat brands acting like a sponge and accumulating water throughout the boat's lifetime dramatically increasing its weight. Have any of you encountered this issue with Scouts? I'd really like to know before I buy this boat and thanks for any comments.
